This quarter the sailing class began on the small boats so that students can really learn how to properly trim sails and how to use their weight to control the behavior of the boat. When we first began sailing these small boats many students were concerned about falling in the water, but now most of them understand how to keey dry! Students have also learned how to efficiently rig these boats so they can get out on the water early in the day. Even though it is a sailing class, when we run the small boats, we also run a gas-powered dingy as a chase boat. Typically one instructor and one student travels from boat to boat to give tips and provide any technical assistance.
